after attending the first flourish open mic as a guest, I knew I had walked into something special. keenan (aka domino), the founder + host of flourish, then invited me to photograph the monthly events.
flourish gazette’s open mic event at blackbird studio is all about bringing local creatives and artists together in a safe, elevated space. from spoken word and acoustics to live vocals, there is no shortage of talent drawn from keenan’s hat. photographing this event was a worthy challenge — how does one capture the same venue differently, month to month?
